The manufacturing process used by Syntal Products (Victoria) Ltd. to create ALTWOOD^® building materials is an innovative, proprietary extrusion technology. It is the ONLY technology in the world that is commercially viable using a totally non-polluting process to recycle ANY TYPE of thermoplastic waste from municipal and industrial sources. Currently such materials are disposed of at landfills at the rate of over 22 thousand tons per year in Victoria's Capital Regional District alone (pop. 400,000).

Our Production Capabilities

Using extreme pressure (and not heat), our ALTWOOD^® extruders produce linear shapes such as posts, poles, stakes, planks, slats and other products where the length is great in relation to the cross-section, and where the cross-section is either constant, or tapered in one direction only.

The length which can be produced is from 3 ft to 12 ft with cross sections from 1" to a 4"x4" post. Please note that some of the smaller diameter cross-sections cannot be molded at the full 12' capacity.

The shapes produced may be square, round, rectangular, oval, triangular, "T" shaped, tongue and groove or irregular depending on the application for the finished product. An infinite variety of blends can be achieved with various physical properties and colors.

Custom dimensions and/or color blending are subject to minimum order requirement. Stock product is available in popular traditional lumber dimensions and earthtones of tan, green and grey.

A Proven Track Record

Originally developed in Belgium, there are now over 100 ALTWOOD^®-type systems operating worldwide, some of them in production for more than 20 years now. Syntal Products (Victoria) Ltd. is proud to be using the first installation of this plastic waste recycling technology in North America.
