The Company

Syntal Products (Victoria) Ltd. ("Syntal") is committed to recycling mixed and commingled plastic waste in an environmentally sound process into marketable, premier quality building material. The plant is located at 6722 Bertram Place in the Keating Cross Industrial Park of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada.

Our Product

ALTWOOD® is the trademark name for Syntal's exclusive line of products, available in common lumber dimensions (up to 12 feet in length) and 3 attractive earth tone colors: tan, green and grey. For most outdoor building projects, ALTWOOD® is an attractive and substantially superior alternative to wood, pressure-treated wood, concrete and metal. ALTWOOD® does not warp, split, check or splinter and is impervious to weather, saltwater, rot, insects, fungi or bacteria. It also has an extremely high resistance to impact and breakage, and requires no painting or maintenance after installation.

Syntal stands behind its ALTWOOD® synthetic lumber with a 40 year warranty - the strongest warranty in the industry. More importantly, the warranty is fully transferable.

Current Operations

Established in 1995, Syntal's mixed plastic waste recycling and processing facility is the first plant designed and commissioned by Industrial Recycling Systems Corp. the exclusive distributor for Julien Environmental Technology s.a., a world leader in commingled thermoplastics recycling technology.

Exclusive use of the J.E.T. proprietary system allows Syntal to process and recycle a mixture of most of commingled plastics from both municipal and industrial waste. This unique capability and high efficiency of the system make it possible for Altwood to be the best value 100% synthetic lumber in North America today.

Syntal supplies ALTWOOD® synthetic lumber through a network of reputable retail distributors. The company will be appointing additional qualified dealers in various areas to further customer convenience.

Syntal is maintaining an active public plastics recycling program at its facility. Individuals and organizations are encouraged to drop off their recyclable plastic in the bins at the entrance to Syntal's property, available 24 hours per day, 7 days a week.

The Future

Syntal is currently working on expanding it's product line in to include additional lumber sizes as well as new shapes and profiles of ALTWOOD®. In addition, the company plans to introduce a line of outdoor building projects in kit form, requiring merely a screwdriver to assemble and suitable for individuals with minimal "handyman" skills.

Regarding recycling, Syntal is currently conducting tests in the area of PVC and Styrofoam processing, which would enable the recycling of these plastics - so far, the results are encouraging.

Syntal Products (Victoria) Ltd. will be joined in 2003 by a new Syntal plant in British Columbia. Industrial Recycling Systems Corp. is in the final planning stages of a plant for the Vancouver area with further plants in other regions soon to follow.

All future Syntal plants will share Syntal Products (Victoria) Ltd. commitment to environmentally sound business conduct and to maintaining the quality of ALTWOOD® synthetic lumber.
